Friends...

I have a small question, seeing I must have been living under a rock for the past...well, 6 years...but what the hell is with HS students not knowing who Peter Jackson and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy are? I mean WTF! What rock or vacent hill have I been living on to where society dropped so far in the toilet that society stopped teaching these kids about stuff that happened like...what...6 years ago?

I'm confused, lost and amazed that an otaku, anime loving geeket would have no idea who Peter Jackson is...I'm...well you can see by my incoherent writing...lost beyond coherent words...

Can someone answer this confused daze with some freak'in sense?

I think not knowing who Peter Jackson is is ok, so long as they know LOTR and who wrote it. However, they never taught me about those books (I learned about them from my sister) in school. In grade 12 I took a fantasy literature class and they were mentioned, but never in a class before that.

They tend to have the same books over and over again in English classes. Lord Of The Flies, Great Gatsby etc.

Yah. Me being such an uber nerd just surprised me. That's all. -heh heh- I guess it never crossed my mind how huge a freaking nerd I actually am.../geek. ^_^'

Like you, I find it utterly incomprehensible that someone in this day and age doesn't know the wonder of Peter Jackson and LOTR. I still have not forgiven my local library for not having in stock any works by Tolkein.
